The opportunity to live surrounded by history and art
Václav Wittner, a prominent architect and builder in Olomouc, was responsible for 11 Vídeňská Street. During his lifetime Wittner built dozens of buildings in Moravia, including three churches and a count's castle. In Olomouc, he was responsible for a number of schools, industrial villas and tenement houses. At that time, 11 Vídeňská Street was one of the first tenement houses built on the site of the demolished city walls between the historical centre and the city park.
The building stands on a corner plot and is perfectly recognisable thanks to its distinctive projecting tower and richly articulated and decorated facades. The aim of the renovation was to restore the building to its historic charm and to do so in the most tasteful way possible. The result is a timeless building with real character that will stand the test of time.
The house and its spacious, impressively designed apartments are the work of the top architectural studio SMLXL in cooperation with Olomouc architect Ing.arch. Jan Dohnal, who specializes in historical buildings. The Prague studio SMLXL is characterized by a clear vision and practical solutions in a novel design. Despite its extensive portfolio and countless successful projects, the studio defines itself as "small big". In keeping with this attitude, the architects at SMLXL treat each design as their own. Each design is thus thought out and refined down to the last detail in order to meet the needs of the client 100%.
The project is conceived as a return to history and art, to a time when things lasted for decades and therefore did not have to be constantly changed. The apartments at 11 Vídeňská Street are designed to be fully functional and still stylish in 10 or 20 years. For us, this idea is the definition of true sustainability.
The project has been prepared by Siroky Real Estate, a family-owned company that prides itself on a personal and professional approach to its clients. The company focuses mainly on historic houses in attractive locations, which are transformed through complex renovations into premium housing due to their high standards.
